When a young nursing student vanishes during her shift at a California hospital, her family is determined to find her, with or without the help of authorities. Keith Morrison reports Vanished on Friday, January 11th, at 9pm/8c.
I saw this story tonight about "Vanished" this woman who killed her best friend over being jealous about a man named Scott who seem to NOT want anything else to do with her, but she was insistent with him and gave him stern warnings about what he and the woman Michele would encounter. This little woman, a Vietnamese, was an angry, jealous and very mean woman inside and purposely killed her best friend because she thought that they were having an affair of some kind. My COMMENT is this: I WANTED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF TIME SHE RECEIVED FOR THIS HEINOUS CRIME SHE DID TO THIS YOUNG LADY. The Commentator did not say and I was left hanging! Could someone please let me know!
I agree with the comment above; after all the details, I would like to know what sentence Giselle got, where she is serving time, what happened to her children, where did she have the child she was carrying when she murdered Michelle and where is that child now?? Also, insight on why the jury took so long to render their decision would help.
Yes, lots of unanswered questions remain. When did Giselle bury the body? How did she bury the body? Still seems like a lot of work for a little 5'2" pregnant girl to kill and bury an adult woman all by herself. Why did Scott not mention that he had that restraining order and the very incriminating audio recording when the police visited him the first time? The investigator said he could tell he was being very honest, but it turns out he was holding some pretty serious evidence, and didn't say anything about it until months later. And what was the deal with Michelle's cell phone ending up in Scott's car months later? What ever happened with that? Oh, and how did they know Giselle went to the Apple store the day after the murder? What made the police decide to check the Apple store's surveillance tape? And didn't they say that Scott had full custody of their daughter? Who's baby was that with Giselle at the Apple store? And who was the guy she was with there?
I guess maybe most of this stuff wasn't essential to the telling of the story, but it sure seems like Dateline left out a lot of the details of some of the things that were mentioned during the show.
I agree with the above. Could a producer or Keith provide wrap up information? Also, I missed the last 15 minutes. Much was made of how small the assailant was, so please fill in how Giselle was able to abduct, kill, and move the victim. Was there an accomplice?

ive been following the story start to finish since it is a local story and although the trial is over, there are still SO MANY unanswered questions that have never been revealed - even in the news. Its a fascinating, mystifying, and extremely sad tragic story. My heart goes out to the Le family. They are amazing people. To answer your question, Giselle received a sentence of "25 to life" (Too lenient if you ask me). She is eligible for parole in 2029 and is said to have no remorse for her actions. She told a parole officer that if she was on the jury, she would convict herself, but that she was being unfairly accused and to this day still believes that Michelle Le was having a romantic affair with Scott. After sentencing, the judge declared that he felt Giselle showed absolutely no remorse, and that if she did not get a sense of remorse by 2029, she would not be eligible for parole. Personally I hope she never sees the light of day again. She's obviously a very sick, twisted, maniac and sociopath.
It was reported that the first text at 12:45 came from Michelle's phone to say she was fine. Just needed to get away.. and yet they reported that Giselle was at the apple store at 2pm getting Michelle phone unlocked. Not a great timeline there. AND Who's to say Michelle died at the hospital scene. It was reported that her car left at 7:15 pm and there's a witness who said they saw the car's headlights and heard a conversation coming from the car 9 hours later, reported at 4 am in the apartment parking lot. It was either Michelle talking to Giselle or SOMEONE else. I think she met and left with another person in the parking lot where the police found the car. I also think she had someone try to kill Michelle 13 months previous but they killed the wrong person and that's how the other Lei women was murdered. I think there linked.
Dateline sucked on this story. A person who pleas guilty, which she did, is obligated to tell the judge at sentencing Who, What, Where, When and Why, which provides for leniency. You should have ended with at least that.
This entire story was poorly reported and made little or no sense. Lets start with the Hospital Garage. If Giselle got in the car at the Garage and/or killed her there, why exactly is there nothing on film showing Giselle entering the Garage and being in the garage? Was she invisible?
Next if this guy Scott knew and had tapes of Giselle saying she was going to kill Michelle why didn't he tell the Police immediately. His non-actions make no sense.
While I feel nothing but sympathy for the parents, if the Police say that your daughter is dead, why pres tell would you think she is alive? I know people hope for the best but the Police said she was dead and its one thing to Search for the body but another thing to give the impression she's alive.
How exactly did Giselle move the body by herself? They kept emphasizing that she had help but now she did it all herself? How exactly?
Why did Michelle go to her car in the first place?
Who was in the car with Giselle talking according to witnesses?
Why didn't it occur to Giselle to make sure she left no evidence in the car and to turn the phones off?
Again very poorly reported story. PS Why exactly is Keith Morrison smiling asking murder questions when the cousin and brother are in anguish?
she was sentenced to 25 to life. the article is dated jan 4,2013 so maybe they already had the show taped by then. no excuse though. yes i agree, this was the worst reported episode ive seen. if i see another episode like this i wont watch again. did they do it on purpose to create a buzz about their program. just terrible. i tried to post the link to the story but it didnt post.
