      I agree.

Suing the police after they found her husband's killer? She doesn't come across too well on TV. Sounds like she turned her good fortune to survive into bad greed karma.

Shame on the system that excuses poor performance! Why wait 7 mos to submit DNA? And the policeman who said he guesses people just like firemen better -- sour grapes. Has he no empathy or understanding for the poor widow? Is he so self-involved that he can't see what the widow is trying to accomplish? $500,000 isn't enough for incompetence.

It is a shame that cities cannot afford to quickly process DNA. The process is slow and expensive. Employees and equipment are a further expense. More requests are made than can be processed quickly. This woman's lawsuit has now deprived the city of more money, and will only slow the processing more.

The city could have hired two additional police chemists for what they had to pay her and her attorneys.

I have lived in Albuquerque for the past 13. I have never seen a more inept police department in my life. The Chief of police is a card-carrying idiot and should have been fired long ago. (All hyperbole aside - I am more afraid of being shot by the police than by a bad guy. They have had more police related shootings than I have ever seen anywhere. A bunch of trigger-happy idiots -- total lack of leadership) The DA, Carrie Brandenburg, is a regular on the news making excuses for her office. It's a pretty corrupt culture in all.

There are a couple questions that I had hoped would be asked before I condemn the police. I don't dateline a good job in this respect.

                      1. If the DNA had been submitted earlier would it have helped catch the killer before he had a chance? That is was his DNA already in a database (he was an Ex-con)?

                      2. Were the Police too complancent in the Murder of the 2 Old folks by having two men in jail and one who confessed even though material that contained DNA was known to be present? Seems that material was actually inconvenient.

In any event due diligence should have forced the submittal of the material for DNA analysis right away, and as a matter of SOP, for the sake of the men behind bars.

Look how much money the city could have saved if they had done due diligence. It might or might not have saved the final victim, the sample could still have been in a quie etc but sitting for months before submittal is not acceptable.

The wrongfully jailed dou probably should have gotten more than they did get and the widow had a point.

Does anyone happen to know the song played during the promo for the new episodes airing in January? I think one of the lyrics is, ' while the sinners sleep'. Thank you for your time and help.

His name is Clinton Bloomfield. But which is he really -- a serial killer or hit man? They never said anything about why all the others (including the Yees) were killed.

Clifton Bloomfield, the murderer, was not a hit man, and not a serial killer in the pop culture sense. According to this piece about him, he was raised "in the system," never had any real attachments to other people, and had severe rage issues. Seems like a true sociopath.

The piece (which has four parts) is very interesting... and totally creepy. He's clearly heavily medicated, and he is just scary.

The widow comes across a greedy and ungrateful. Not only did the police department find her husbands' killer, but they did it very quickly. I don't know why they settled with her. That money should go to hire more staff to test the DNA, so there isn't a backlog and innocent people aren't sitting in jail!

i think she planned the murder. if someone broke in how come the back door wasn't damaged, maybe she negotiated the insurance money with the killer. i dont trust this chick.
