A mother fights to free the man convicted in her daughter’s murder. The Confession is an all-new Dateline report that airs Friday, August 24th, at 10pm/9c.
Finally a major news source has picked up Angie's story. I hope people out there who have information will see this and come forward with answers. Carol deserves to know the truth about her daughter's murder. The family needs closure. Thank you Dateline NBC for airing this!
I Agree I knew Angie, went to school with her and graduated with her. I was never as sad up to that point in my life as when my mom called me at collage to tell me that she was dead. I have never believed that Chris was the only one involved. I am so Happy for Carol and her Brother that maybe something will finally come out into the open.
Please someone tell me what happened to Dateline last night? The people of Cleveland, Ohio had to watch the sorry Brown's lose instead of a new dateline smh. I woke up this morning and turned on my DVR to watch the best program on EARTH and "what did I see" ? The sorry sorry sorry BROWN's losing !!!!! How do I still record when something else is on tv ? PLEASE HELP !!!!
I feel for this mother and what she has gone thru. I think the detectives spoon fed the answers to Tapp just to close a case. In the interview with the detectives one of them as he was explaining how Tapp knew certain things about the murder slipped up and said (he) instead of she when he was talking about how many times (he) had been stabbed. There are alot of good cops and alot of bad ones also and I think these two just were looking to close this case and send someone to jail. Why didn't the other guy go to jail after Tapp told them he stabbed her first? I hope that this mother can get the real answers to what happened to her daughter because she as any parent needs to know what really happens to their children in a case like this. The bad cops should be thrown in prison and left to the inmates.
Cobbs currently resides in a Nevada prison. He attacked a woman there, and it was similar to Angie's. That is why the Idaho Falls police questioned him and believe him to be a part of Angie's murder. That is why he was not arrested by the Idaho Falls police, he was already arrested for the other attack.

I hope that the Dodge family will find closure. Chris Tapp might know something, but he is not guilty of murder. As 'Connie' said in her comment..."There are alot of good cops and alot of bad ones also and I think these two just were looking to close this case and send someone to jail." Amen!
I think that detective turned mayor looks guilty! Just look at his face during the NBC interview. What about his attitude in the tapes? And, oddly, he was the only person who went with Chris to the alleged house where the murder takes place and that kind of situation is usually videotaped but in that case it was not. Just the new mayor/ex-detective and Chris. I don't trust that guy. I hope someone tests his DNA. I will bet that the mayor is guilty of something, if not murder.
(Mayor Fuhriman may look guilty, but it seems to be the prevailing look around here.) Most of this community have always wondered why the third party was never fully investigated.
I agree completely with Gale from Vancouver. I think they should take DNA samples from the Mayor, who was the main investigator years ago. He seemed to guide Tapp into making a confession. In last night's program he looked uneasy when he was in the background during the taping. If he is innocent of any involvement he should be willing to take any test to clarify his innocence. My heart goes out to both mothers.
I watched this episode and it eerily reminded me of the "Yogurt Shop Murders." In the YSM, 4 young men were considered suspects and over a decade they went through trials. One man was sent to death row. Another man got life. The other two men had their cases dropped due to a lack of evidence. Eventually science caught up to this case and the DNA samples found inside one of the girls was determined to not be from these 4 men. So, the detectives changed their story to include there must have been a fifth man involved. Now everyone is waiting for the dna to be matched to the murder. The state has tested all first responders and anyone that could have contaminated the crime scene. There was no match there. So just like Chris and Carol, lots of loved ones on both sides of this crime are waiting for justice.
I heard nothing about Chris having any alibi for the night of the crime. Is there one? If he was elsewhere and it can be proved, then his so called "confession" would become irrelevant.
I forgot to include in my last comments that I was not surprised that the judge wouldn't consider Chris Tapp's appeal. They all belong to the same church. If you are hanging with a group of kids and you get in trouble the kid who is not LDS will end up taking wrap.

Where is Cobbs now?

It was a very good episode and my heart goes out to her mom. I fell asleep on the last 20 minutes so I don't know who murdered her. Who killed her?
Chris Tapp is still in prison and the case remains unchanged..so they still do not know who murdered her.

I agree!!! Why haven't they insisted on a sample of his D.N.A for analysis??? There is just something about this detective/Mayor I don't trust.
