Once a hometown hero in Coldwater, Michigan, Tom Foley is shocked to find himself the lead suspect in the case of his wife Darlene's murder.
When Darlene failed to show up at their son's 10th birthday party, Tom said he feared the worst and returned home to find her shot dead in the shower. Though investigators never found the murder weapon, a suspicious bag of shotgun shells found in the basement along with testimonials from Tom and Darlene's son and his friend about a strange noise they heard that day, lead to Tom's conviction. Thinking the case was over, the defense team is soon approached by a stranger with new evidence that would turn everything upside down.

These are misplaced arguments.
He got away. Here on earth anyway. Taken altogether and with the jury not hearing about events in the few weeks after, it's like this: human nature leads people to believe what very well-groomed, good-looking and fit men say, over others. It's common knowledge in the sales world. He dropped a window a week before? Kids heard loud and highly suspect noises when he was the only one there with his wife? Sent the kids out to start a truck on a mild day when no one would think it necessary. Shower running to muffle noise? No muddy footprints, meaning he must have left clean shoes at the door and took the muddy pair with him. Waited until his boy's 10th birthday knowing everyone would be elsewhere and not expected to drop in. Didn't ask to use someone's cell phone?? No one had one in 2009?? Duh. It would have been very interesting to hear what a guy like Tom did while in prison, who he was with, things he said, if he had the well-known and expected "good times" without a wound in sight on him? Was he a black belt or what? Was he calm and jovial or beside himself with anger and fear? In with "other murderers?" Tom got away.
Why do all of these stories always start out with judgements about how people grieve? Oh yeah, that"s evidence, ain't it?? How COULD you, you're supposed to be upset the way I THINK YOU SHOULD BE!!!! And if you don't get my approval for your grieving behavior, you must be guilty!!!! Nothing but a bunch of cheap gossips!!! And of course, gossip is ALWAYS right, isn't it??? And we all know, that if there's insurance, they musta' dun it for the money, and if not, that just proves they hated the person, so the spouse always did it!!! RIGHT???? "In my opinion", ain't evidence, y'all!!! When ya ain't got no one else ta blame, just blame the spouse, or whoever finds the body!!! 'Cause it's way too much like work to find someone ya don't already know, right??? I mean, it has ta be someone we know, people don't have cars or anything like that ya know, and besides, we want everything in life to fit together just like a perfect puzzle, and if'n it don't, why we'll just get a hammah and make it fit, ya'll!!! And then the world will be all right!!! Cause we know it all!!!!
