I'd like to hear what Ellen's first husband has to say about her.

She comes across to me as having a cluster B personality disorder, which would make her a facile, conscienceless liar with a tendency towards projecting her own behavior on to others, such as her husband. She certainly didn't seem to have any problem with her various fraudulent activities.

So, I have to wonder who was doing the abusing in the relationship ... him, her or both of them.

So yeah, be interesting to hear was the first husband would say about her personality, character and behavior.

Gotta love when she asked the judge to limit her sentence so she's be out for her daughter's graduation ... I bet dad would have wanted to be there to.

I did not stay up late enough to hear the conclusion of this story. I see that she did murder her husband and that he was imprisioned under the ground from the pcitrues. I want to know if she was arrested and convicted? How did they dig so deep? Who actually did kill him?

I wasn't buying this lady's story from the minute she opened her mouth. When they told the story of Mr. Snyder's being stricken with MS, the very first thing I thought of was that his wife was somehow slowly poisoning him with something that would emulate the symptoms of MS.

The story she told of her sick husband waking her up in the middle of the night to "argue" with her, ONLY makes sense if you consider the fact that 3AM arguments have NO WITNESSES. And the story about her "black eye" was totally contrived. If you have a black eye and don't want anyone at work to notice, you cover it with make-up. Wearing sunglasses while at your desk at work only advertises your black eye which is exactly what she wanted to do.

I think the prosecutor in this case was more concerned about preserving his own "record" than he was with seeking justice for Mr. Snyder or his family. Considering ALL of the many, many lies this woman told over the years, to everyone and about everything, it's hard to believe that a jury would believe her about ANYTHING. Her real personality came out when the interviewer asked about her prior embezelment conviction, about her forgery of her husbands name on loan docs and tax returns, and her keeping of her husband's disability checks long AFTER she'd killed him. The narrowing of her eyes & saying "O.K." with that smirk of hers told the whole story. And showing up at her former father-in-law's funeral and asking about his will took NERVE.

Had she been forced to stand trial and the evidence been submitted to a jury, I do believe she would have been overwhelmingly convicted of First Degree Murder. And, I believe she and her attorney KNEW it too which is why they jumped at the plea deal offered them.

This woman not only got away with shooting an unarmed man while he was sleeping, but she also ruined the lives of both her son and her daughter, not to mention the lives of her husband's family members. The fact is, she got away with murder with the help of both her attorney and the prosecutor. They will all face justice in a higher court one day though.

Every word that came out of her mouth seemed to be a lie coated with anger and craziness. Mr. Snyder looked quite emaciated and sick to be the abusive monster she portrayed. I was hoping that the story could negate the gay rumor and find out who that guy was. She is a really, really sick fiend. She has scarred her son to no end, robbed her daughter of her father's love. She got about 8 years of freedom while her husband was entombed under dirt and concrete.

Getting away with crime as she did, it’s not her fault; it’s the corrupted legal system we
have in this country. I had a pretty much similar case, except that I was lucky
enough to survive from the shooting by someone hired by my ex-wife and from the
tentative of poisoning me as well, and my wife got away with it just because
she KNEW PEOPLE, as she and her lover (my own biological son- step-son for her)
brag around with the help of her "known" people". I was wrongly
and unfairly arrested by the Sheriff on false battery accusations and on the
top of it I was not allowed to present such situations in court. I was
portrayed as a very violent man where the truth was exactly the opposite. On
the top of it our own son at the time 17 demand to testify in court in my favor
and accuse her of sexual molestation he suffered from her and he was thrown out
of the court. She got away with a horrendous crime, kept most of our assets,
over 3 million dollars (her lawyers could not wait to fill their pockets) and
walked away free. When my own son was against myself what else can you ask for?
The judge "bought" and threatened instead and let her go free and
clear. I feel like to mention names and put fingers at their face, but again,
the system is so corrupted that innocent people and victims are all the time
punished or killed and the criminals get away.

That's our legal system, so don't be surprised that this Albuquerque murder got an easy
one. Statutes of limitation for a crime, at least, where someone was killed
SHOULD NEVER EXPIRE. Period. She buried (see how deep the hole is...) the body
AFTER SHOOTING HIM??? That’s more than a reason to see this bitch is a freaked
liar and a COLD MURDER. She deserves no life in prison she deserves a lethal
injection and case close and any lawyer that defends such criminal should get
the same sentence. May be, the world would be better off, if the lawyers who defending criminals, and lie to protect them, would get the same punishment as their clients or if the press would be allowed to publicly show all the "cookings" inside the courts and in the judges chambers.

My condolences to Mike's family. I hope the murder will rotten in jail and her attorney have
same similar situation in her own family, her own brother pheraps, because she does not look like to have any kids.

(I am an immigrant- so please bear with my poor English)

This woman has no conscience whatsoever! From the fraud to allowing her son to carry this with him. She used her son to cover her pathetic lies. She makes me sick! The son feels loyal to her and she doesn't love him at all. I hope someday he see's that she didn't give a crap about him at all. To put him through that disgusts me. She is still not telling the truth. I don't believe for a second that her husband was gay, I don't believe for a second that she feels bad, she is just well rehearsed in what it took to save her hide. This is so wrong, this lady should be on death row. She took the life of her husband, her son, and her daughter. Pathetic Judicial System!

Why didn't anyone try to find the supposed gay partner in Phoenix. Cause there was no gay partner

Who dug the huge hole ? I fell asleep 10 minutes before it was over

      Dear Producers:

While I found this episode interesting, the story could have been done in 25 minutes. The belabored time you took to present the story detracted from the presentation. You need a really good high school english teacher to HACK your plot and script, or perhaps you need to Watch 60 minutes or America's most wanted. That was a 20 minute story, that's it. ALSO, you make all these allegations about Snyder's gay relationship partner, then you leave that hanging. (no pun intended). Was there REALLY a guy in Phoenix, or was that a total fictional story made up Ms. Dingbat? Or where you just worried about offending the Gay Community? You see, if this guy was fictional, then it makes the Wife more sinister. If she killed him because he was gay, maybe that makes it a HATE Crime, even if there is a domestic element. You spent 2 Hours to NOT answer these questions, but you kept emphasizing some minor points, that made it irritating to watch 2 hours. While your marketers may urge that the show "must" have been good enough to keep me watching, it is more likely to make me skip Dateline in the future.

As for the wife Ellen(?), she is a sick piece of @!$%# that should have been tried for murder. She appeared to be sinister; psychologically unbalanced; and borderline sociopath. She could have just left. (yes I am aware of battered wife syndrome). I suspect she was the more dominant personality in that relationship, and she was going to do what she wanted. 11 years is not enough, and I hope there is some school yard justice in store for her, when the other women of prison U emotionally and physically rip into her.

As for Dateline producers, great story line, horrible production. Show two or three of those stories in 60 minutes. Grade: C+.

My TV went out b/f the show was over, so I never found out what happened. Could someone please let me know what the "Secret" was. I have no idea what happened after he had gone missing, supposedly with his gay lover.

what an incredibly despicapable woman. it's hard to believe that this sort of person walks amongst us, but they do. or perhaps i should say 'slithers' amongst us. finally caught practically red-handed, she can't stop lying. gosh knows what a nightmare she put her husband through before she murdered him. even her children are pawns in her disgusting game of 'blame the victim'. oh, he didnt' just leave her, he left her for a gay lover. yeah, right. probably the only reason he didn't high-tail it years before she literally put him in his grave was because of his love for his daughter and step-son. his family needs to bring a civil suit for wrongful death against her, and take everything she stole from him by inheriting his propery. drive her into bankruptcy and leave her there.

Whoa! That's a HUGE hole that was dug! How deep is it? That person dug like their pants were on fire!

From the moment the story began and she said she checked his cell phone, I was hooked...but then disappointed! You see, I know of a Dave Simmons in Phoenix and last year (2010) he had spent the night with a woman (his on again/off again GF) who was murdered in her home the next day! He was a suspect in that crime but then was cleared.

I just thought it so strange to hear of that name and that he lived in Phoenix and the death of Mike Snyder? Seemed very coincidental to me... Do I think Dave Simmons is gay? Couldn't tell you. I dont know the guy personally only through aquaintances. I do know that he has been married 3 times, has grown children, and was dating a woman who was murdered last year.

Nothing like saying whether or not they interviewed Dave Simmons or if there was an affair at all. Even though she was the one that did it, I would have loved to hear a little more about the gay affair....if only to squelch my curiosity if this was the Dave Simmons that I know. Guess that will never be answered...:(
