I've got to watch this one...
I watched this story last night and was facainated with it, however I fell asleep about 3/4 of the way through it. Did her and her son kill him??
What happened??? Fell asleep at 10:45 Nevr saw the end . I am sooooo mad.

I agree w/one poster who said the story could have been told in 25 minutes, but w/commercials and the build-up suspense, it could have been done in an hour, which would have been plenty of time. I also thought the Dateline reporter was overly judgemental towards the wife and let the son "go" b/c he was underage at the time. The judge in the case who put the wife away for 11 years also gave leniancy to the son. This Mike guy was an abuser. Sure, he had a family--parents and siblings but he was an abuser (to his wife, ppl he worked with and others, probably his family, too). He sounded like a total "bully" and she put a stop to the abuse. Anyone who would repeatedly wake up their spouse at 2 or 3 a.m. to go off on them, is not "right". Yes, there were other ways she could have handled it as well (divorce or going to counseling or contacting the police or another intervention) but she didn't. The son wasn't underage forever. He knew that what he did was wrong by helping his mom, but he kept it inside (told the "wrong" one person, too) for all those years. I think if it had been a F judge, that she would have "understood" the underlying areas better and would not have put her away for 11 years, but would have opted for the 5 years. I'm hoping she will be up for parole in 5. Only women know how it is to live w/an abusive man day after day after day.
