Aug. 26: 'Mystery on Blood Mountain'

Dennis Murphy reports on how the case of a young woman who went missing in Blood Mountain in the Chattahoochee National Forest lead to the capture of a man who may have been reenacting a horror-thriller movie. Was she his only victim or were there others?

The Mystery on Blood Mountain airs Friday, August 26, at 9pm/8c.

I have been backtracking & researching Gary hilton since 01/06/2008.  Meredith Hope Emerson should have been rescued.

The bigger questions are 1) why aren't the police tracking forced withdrawals like they do other crimes? and 2) Why aren't the ATMs programmed to accept an emergency PIN system that these victims could use to call for help?  Even if some people couldn't use it, some could, and that would help them.   http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/Some-South-Fla-ATM-Customers-Welcome-Duress-Code-127792683.html

The police even lobbied and TESTIFIED to get this system put in place to save lives and deter crime.  http://www.pjstar.com/news/x1745367387/ATM-software-aimed-at-reversing-crime

i was watching dateline, the episode about gary hilton and the blood mountain murders, i happened to noticed a lot of pictures of him in front of rent a storage lockers, number 27 to be exact, have the gbi police or fbi ever done any background checking to see if he had, has or had any old storage that where auction off? he might of left evidence in an old locker that police could use. i also think or feel that because of his egotistic thinking he has, that while in prison he should have nothing but female correctional officers order him everyday what to do. i think this would just eat him up be told what to do by a female. thanks p.s. if i was any help, could you let me know.

I wonder what happened to his dog when he was sent to death row. Does anybody know?

runnergirl33, Dandy; GMH's dog was adopted by one of the searchers involved in the Meredith Hope Emerson case, and worked in some capacity with Law Enforcement. Dandy's adoption played a part in the plea agreement in GA.

Meredith's dog Ella was adopted by her parents and now weighs 80#. They reside in CO. This info was shared in a letter from her parents which was read at a memorial walk for Meredith at Meeks Park, Blairsville, GA in 2009.
