Avid viewer of your Dateline series. As I sit here watching the Chris Hansen Dateline special "Follow the Money" about the internet criminals from Africa, I'm curious about something and would like to ask a question. Why wouldn't you do to these criminals - in the US - what the police do to catch other money connected thieves? When you meet with the crook in the US, and he ask you to give him additional money, do it! Give him the money he wants, only give him "marked money". That way you could really "Follow the money", and see where it goes. This would allow you to get him for passing counterfeit money, and could hopefully lead you to others who might be involved. Would it work ? What do you think ? Just a thought. Thanks

I love this idea and have been wondering the same thing. There is a gentleman in the UK who is doing this on his own. I think we need to do something here. I am still in contact and dragging my scammers along promising to send money in hopes I can somehow give to authorities to help. I want to give them the money in person and receive my fake cashiers check or money order with the police hiding at the bank and follow him right after we verify whatever form of payment he used was fraudulant. So far, educationg people is all we can do and that does not seem to be helping, these are very intelligent people that are scamming and hard to find and track down..................
