In the end it was the father of the baby who was her old high school boyfriend and he is spending life in prison. Amen for Tori and baby Dean. What a horrible situation for the entire family!
Thanks for the ending info. I hate when I miss endings. Did they find out why the boyfriend killed Tori and Dean?
I hope the guys in prison strangle him like he did to Tori and that beautiful baby, Dean. As we all know, inmates dont like people that do harm to children. He WILL get whats coming to him!!!!
Sadly, you are not correct. Having a brother in prison for 28 years, the old days of "taking care" of the inmates who harm children is not tolerated as once was. Though most of the inmates are for punishing the person, the prison staff, puts them in special protective custody and have to answer to powers that be if they "happen" to be looking the other way when someone gets hurts.
My prayers go out to the family! I played softball with Tori in Mira Mesa! I live out of the area now and happen to turn on Dateline last night and heard the story! So sad! I was so impressed with Tori's mom strength, courage, and honesty. She did a great job honoring her daughter and grandson's memory!
I agree with "FormerMiraMesaRipper" that Dayna (grandmother) did a wonderful job in honoring her daughter and grandson. How hard it was for her and still is to go through this. The selfish "I can do anything I want" spoiled child/man (if you can call him that) thought he could do what ever and get away with it and should be punished more than just locked up. It's obvious he never suffered any consequences for any of his previous actions. The judge ordered that a picture of the two he killed be posted in his cell for him to view daily. I hope it is still there. And no final comments from the killer's parents on their son's actions? How does a person raise a son to be so thoughless? My heart goes out to Dayna and I hope she finds true peace in her life. Her loved ones are with God. God Bless.
No the picture is not up still the guards in his building are not doing their job of enforcing that. Potts gets visits from his mother every weekend and once a month or so visits from his father. He is still a spoiled POS. His parents give him whatever they can, he even still has his fiance visiting him there every weekend. I really cannot see how she can look past what he did.

I believe the episodes can be seen online at the Dateline site. He kills the Mother and Baby because the jerk did not want to pay child support. Also he did'nt want the fact that he had a child to interfere with his plans to marry his girlfriend. What an @!$%#! Supposed to come from money?!! well that proves that having a "privileged" life does not mean having brains, compassion, or a soul......I like the fact that he has to have their picture hanging on his wall for the duration of his jail sentence, which is life. The picture shows Tori and Baby Dean in their coffin...So sad....
Unfortunately he does not have the picture hanging up. I have a loved one that is in the same prison as this Potts guy and I asked my loved one if in fact that guy has that picture up and he said no he doesn't.
Come on Dateline, how could so many people have the end of the show cut off. I am tired of the networks scheduling shows to start or end 1 minute before or after so it can mess up everyones DVR, Tivo etc. Same networks seem to keep doing it.
I couldn't sleep at all after viewing this Dateline episode. I even forgot all about what the first hour of Dateline was about just thinking about the murders of that young mother and the innocent little Dean. How could the father brutalize his own beautiful, bright-eyed child for his own selfish reasons?To think that he set the whole thing up by dangling the carrot of dinner in La Jolla to ensnare Tori's interest. Did he watch the faces of his victims as he killed them? The whole thing makes my skin crawl and makes me physically ill. I have a grandchild, and to think that I might never be able to share his life, as Dean's grandmother is facing, is a sickening torment to me. The grandmother is truly a brave soul, seeking to honor her sweet angels so that they might not be forgotten. My prayers go out to her as she faces life without them here on earth. Dean is a whole life never lived, a life interrupted. Who knows what he might have become, how he might have contributed to the world as an adult. May God rest their sweet souls.

I am very disappointed that Dateline did not do all of their homework on this story. Unfortunately, Tori's father and brother had to watch on National Television the horror that they have had to deal with since learning of Tori's and Dean's death on August 3rd, one week after their funeral. Yes, Tori has a brother and Tori had plans to visit her father in Michigan the second week of August . Not having the opportunity to put closure to such a horrible crime continues to loom over both of them but to then have to hear the vindictive lie that Tori's Dad walked out at six and NEVER LOOKED BACK......is so insensitive of Dateline and so unprofessional particularly since Dateline never bothered to confirm the facts.
It is really upsetting to see how this Potts guy gets to live. He gets visits every weekend by his mother and fiance, and yes I said fiance. She lives with his mommy who bought her a new lexus and pays for her schooling. I am sure she will be gone once she is done with school. I honestly wish I did not see this episode because everytime I go to visit my love one in prison I have to see the creepy "baby killer" as they call him in there.
