About the original series 'My Kid Would Never Bully'

Dateline takes a provocative and revealing look at how kids really respond to bullying when they don't know their parents are watching. With the help of child behavior experts, volunteer parents, and kid actors playing along as bullies and victims, Dateline's hidden cameras are in the room when unsuspecting teenagers are put to the test in various apparent bullying situations. From boys getting rough in a school gym, to girls picking on others because of their clothes and weight, will these kids do what their parents hope and predict?

I will leave a comment as soon as I watch the show. I hope it is as good as it is advertized.

I work for a school district and see bullying all the time and would love to know how to intervene correctly without repercussions to the student being bullied.

I am enjoying your program on bullying and it can be just as easy for adults to engage in such behavior as children. I saw something very interesting during the program. A Papa Murphy's Pizza commercial aired during the show. WCBD 2 in Charleston, SC is the affiliate. In the commercial one of the actors called the other a "ladyman" because he was going to cut a stuffed pizza with a normal pizza cutter. It may seem stupid but it is accepted. As we can see "bullying" is everywhere. Name calling is seen as simple and a joke. I would have not thought anything about it if I had not seen your program. Something we all need to think about. YouTube link included.

We often hear about students bullying other students at school but nobody discusses when its the coaches, the parents of the players and the players bulling one of the other players on the team at school. My daughter was a victim of this kind of bullying at school. I talked to the princpal of the school and I went to the superindepent of the district and it still never stopped. I was told they would investigate the situtation (which they never did) and they kept those coaches, parents, and players in place to allow the bullying to continued throughout the basketball season towards my daughter. No matter who I contacted the bullying never stopped. It was extremely humilating and embrassing for my daughter and not one person stepped up to protect her and stopped this. And I was so very stupid to believe this superindent would have this stopped.

i just watched this episode of dateline. i am 15 years old. this is amazing and each scenario is extremely accurate to how high school or even middle school is. The thing with bullying is that the insults cut extremely deep and any person watching is scared to defend the victim because of a simple reason: they will be bullied as well. It was hard for me to watch the boys in this dateline. This is because of the gay slurs that were being used. It was so hard to watch because this is exactly how high school is. Gay is used as an insult, fag is being used as an adjective. this has to stop. I try to tell all my classmates to stop when they use this language but it never seems to help. msnbc should take this idea of actors and actresses pretending to bully others, on the road. They should go to different schools and areas around the country and teach people the affects of bullying. They should show people how cruel they are truly being and how much words can actually sting a person and affect them for the rest of their life. My friend was called fat the other day and since then she has stopped eating, no matter how many times ive told her she is beautiful, the thought of the boys in our grade calling her fat never leaves her. Bullying needs to end.

I can not thank the producers enough for airing this informative program. I watched it with my daughter, who cried during it and expressed how she wished you would have picked her school in which to record it. Please consider an encore presentation so that your many and varied messages reach all those in need!

Fantastic program! I was bullied tremendously as a kid, and at 28, I still have bad memories of being bullied. I was in tears watching this show, because I really saw myself in the victims, and was also touched by the teens who really took a stand against the bullies. If I were to see Lilly (the girl who took a stand against the bullies more than any other), I would give her a hug and tell her that I wish there was someone like her when I was a kid.

I also think this show couldn't have been presented any better. Using hidden cameras and putting people in scenarios with actors (without knowing it) is a true test to show how the kids are acting, as well as showing the parents what they may be in the dark about with their child. This program needs to be spread around as much as possible.

Come to think of it, I really would love to join this team, or at least participate in an anti-bullying program so I can help to stop kids from ending up like I did. The amount that I went through was catastrophic, and becoming a part of a program like this could be very gratifying. If anyone knows of anything I could be a part of, please let me know!

I am a ninth grade teacher, and I felt very empowered after watching this show. Bullying prevention is a state-mandated program in Washington state, and we've been working hard to teach kids about harmful effects of bullying and their role as bystanders. I plan on showing this to my classes as another example of how and why we must stop this bullying behavior in our school. Thank you, Dateline!

Bullying is harsh and an unfortunate part of life. My problem with the show is it is not in a real world scenario; Why don't you put these children in a group of their friends and see how they act! Dateline put strangers in a room of strangers, and frankly when people are alone in a situation (not knowing anyone) they "seem" to have morals, but as soon as you put people in a group of peers that they know the whole dynamic changes...

Don't get me wrong...Bullying is for people who have a lack of self respect let alone respect for anyone else. And it is wrong. But if you for one second think that teachers will do anything for your children, forget it you are sorely mistaken. Raise your children. Teach them respect by your actions.

My son is 11 and in the 5 grade he was being bullyed by another child. I have been to the school about 15 times and the vp finally told my mom that we should transfer him to a different school because the child that was doing it was having a hard time at home his dad was dieing for cancer. ( I feel sorry for the child and his family) But at the same time i need to worry about my son. I did change him in schools but at the same time the school is allowing this to happen to other children and they dont seem to wanna fix the problem. I should have not had to put him in a different school. When i called the school district about it they said I took it wrong I dont know how else to take that statement but ok. So why am i telling you this i need to know what to do now i have to drive my son 30 mins away to another school because i fear for his safety at the school he was in> He has made new friends but at the sametime he thinks he did something wrong by telling me and no matter how much we tell him he was right he doesnt think so. How do I help my son get through this? Thank you

How can a school system get a copy of the segment to show kids? Please email me and have a way to access a copy from your website. I thought the show was real...which it was. Thank you. I hope you can continue to get a bird's eye view on more relevant topics toward bullying.

Did you find out how to get a copy of this show? I actually recorded it on my DVR, but don't know how to share it with staff at my middle school. I'd love to buy a copy. I'm a school psychologist in Iowa and dealing with some really mean 6th grade girls.

                                  Thanks.

I supervise the In-school Suspension program for middle school, and I have a lot of students who are assigned because of bullying. Some;however, do not actually understand that bulling maybe physical, verbal or nonverbal. Also, there are students who are not sensitive to the feelings and emotional needs of others.

If available, please send me the ordering information for this series.
