To help the people of Medor is a way to live what you believe. All people, especially the poor, are God's children. I hope that those touched by this incredible story will donate by going to www.olqpva.org The people of Medor need more teachers, new school buildings, hot lunches for the kids, trees to stop the erosion, roads, medical care, latrines, and so much more. Please consider making even a small donation.
yeah kindness and love so true,is a thing of the mind....it comes 4rm within and does not necessarily have to be forced on nobody, but i know what it is to be in pain,to suffer real hard,i also know what it means to lose hope and to be in a situation of hopelessness and then....All a sensible person will do is to say-"God i need u in this"AT that point one is @ a less than zero point.Hum now i want as many of us who re in a better position than these poor Haitti people to put ourselves in their stead, cos of course it could ve been me...it could ve been u! JUST SHOW A LITTLE KINDNESS.....TRY A LITTLE KINDNESS....It costs us nothing.I Bet u,it"s worth the CANDLE LIGHT.
As a member of the lay Buddhist organization SGI, I know that we are all children of the universe. We all can help our brothers by donating money, talents and skill to help our fellow brothers in Haiti. So many of us have been blessed with good health, clean living and abundant of so many things that a lot of times we don't think about those who have so very little. They can not do it alone. This is our world and they are our brothers. Help any way you can. Monetary or physical contribution. While watching this telecast, the news commentator could not believe how determined the people were to build the road for the transport of meds and medical personnel to the Medor area. As SGI Buddhists we believe that with determination and faith nothing is impossible when your heart is in the forefront. This was shown by the determination and hard work that the building crew had in their efforts. Also, the heart opens up much creativity and common sense when your faith is strong. I really felt that when the decision was made to give the workers three meals a day while they were finishing the project. Can you imagine how those good people felt getting three meals a day when most could hardly get one meal. I am so proud of my fellow Bodhisattvas of the Earth and what they did in Medor. Now what can each of us do to help our fellow universal brothers in Haiti. A little can go so far.
My brother was the Veterinarian that was on the trip to Medor. RAM is an incredible organization. I work for Rays of Hope for Haiti and having been working in Haiti for about 11 years. Neither RAM nor Rays of Hope for Haiti could exist if it was not for the kindness and generosity of others. There are so many of us that are not doctors able to go to Haiti to help but anyone and everyone can do their part. If you would like to be a part of helping Haiti dig out of the horrible poverty that is part of the landscape of the country go to www.raysofhopeforhaiti.com and see what you can do.
I just watched this episode this morning and couldn't wait to communicate with those who have watched or participated in this wonderful mission of kindness. Yesterday my world was turned upside down because my cell phone was stolen! What a true sign from God that I have no problems in this world. To watch the villagers that were happy and singing to get their work done when they were only promised food was so humbling. In the country in which we live pay athletes millions of dollars to play a game and those athletes walk away from a two million dollar contract to go to a three million dollar contract, because two million is just not enough for catching a ball, we should all be forced to watch this episode on Medor. When the earthquake hit, my husband and I tried to decide how we could help and I'm sure, like many others, in time it got put on the back burner as the news took us to new catastrophic events. I now know what God is calling us to do. We could all learn so much from the people of Medor. I am looking at my life through new eyes this morning.
Leanne, please visit RAM's website to learn more about Stan Brock's organization. Most of the medical volunteers on this expedition were recruited through RAM, and RAM is looking for the right team and aircraft to provide medical evacuation services to Medor and other areas of Haiti. Visit RAM's website often for updates, and look at Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps on Facebook, which is the official RAM Facebook presence.
Stay open to new experiences, and they will present themselves. It doesn't take amazing bravery or outstanding talent to help the people of Haiti or any number of other folks in need; it just takes a willingness to sat yes, and to go.
