This e-mail is to Hoda from a native New Orleanian. I loved your piece on New Orleans & the fighting spirit of the people of Louisiana. Watching the scenes from Katrina, the Saints winning the Super Bowl & then the oil spill, you went straight for the heart! I needed a tissue to wipe the tears from my eyes. What a heart-felt story! We love you and miss you here in New Orleans. Come back....

I think we should start a blog called "let's figure this out" Open it up to the world and maybe the solution to this problem is out there. At this point we need some out of the box thinking.

I think it's funny how the republicans can blame the new administration for all the deals that they had a part in. Why are they not showing Palin and McCain and their party chanting DRILL BABY DRILL. I never voted or wanted any drilling in our oceans because of what happened. Accidents happen. This is a man made disaster,of greed. If the republicans want to hang someone, they need to look at their own interest that they voted for. I guess they think the PEOPLE are stupid enough to follow them pointing the finger at others when they should be pointing it at themselves. Yeah, everything is OBAMA's fault. Quit the blame game people and take some responsibility for your actions.

I want to thank you for airing this show , i hope and pray that millions of people saw this segment , and were moved like i was , these are some of the most heart wrenching stories Ive ever witnessed , there are I'm sure 100,s of stories to be told and these were just a few but they speak volumes to the TV watching public , personally i don't think they should have ever set those rigs so close to such a environmentally sensitive area as new Orleansthe risk was to high for an event like this to happen , when will they ever learn , now that they have destroyed a way of life for these people and damaged an Eco system that may never recover , my heart goes out to these people and the saviours of the rig blast and to the families of the ones who perished this will go down in history as the biggest national catastrophe ever in the us . GOD HELP UP !!

'Animals; Hobos' !!!, These Republican leaders must apologize to the millions of Laid off workers

It was very sad to hear republican law makers referring to laid off workers as 'animals' and 'Hobos'. The laid off workers must demand public apology from these republicans. Currently, the country has millions of these laid off workers who are really struggling to find work and are still unable to find any. These misguided republicans should understand that these laid off workers never asked their employers to lay them off but were laid off for reasons beyond their control and not of their own fault.

The allowances these people are paid come from what they contributed over a period of time when they were still working. This allowance is very little compared to what these people were earning before they got laid off and can only enable them take care of a few of their basic needs. Any leader or individual who becomes jealous of these little allowances being paid to these individuals should understand that non of these individuals will never be happy to continue leaving on these little allowances that can not even enable them pay their pressing bills until they find themselves jobs.

The majority of laid off workers, even though they are really suffering with the little allowances paid to them, recognize and appreciate all that the Democrat law makers have done to ensure that they stay on their feet and also that they get their jobs back or find other jobs. The Democrat leaders understand that they are leading people and not stones or animals. They inherited an economy falling off the cliff from the same republicans who now after just a few months feel that people should vote for them so that they can go back and mess it up further. They think that voters have forgotten that they created this mess that the Democrats are now painfully struggling to clean. It always take a while to clean a mess like the one left behind by these individuals who are now calling the laid off workers Animals, Hobos and all other names that they can come up with. They need to have respect for humanity.
