Discuss: The Case of the Merry Widow

It looked like the perfect crime -- a puzzling killing that went unsolved for years, with no eyewitnesses, and no solid evidence. It involved a devoted husband and father who was shot to death in his own home. His wife, Jennifer Shanbrom, was shaken -- it seemed she narrowly escaped the gunman herself. But shortly after the funeral, the questions started: Was this widow grieving... or celebrating? Keith Morrison reports on "The Case of the Merry Widow."

Watched this show (recorded while I was at work). Watched it until the end. The Jury was just coming in and my recording was cut off, so I could not see the verdict. Sure would like to watch this show until the final end. Is there some way I could do that?

Hey there. Here's the transcript to the Case of the Merry Widow -- http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37408183/ns/dateline_nbc-crime_reports .

The video won't be available for this hour, just for the Case of the Missing Mom (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37401006/ns/dateline_nbc-crime_reports/)

I am not sure that they proved it 100% that she murdered her husband. He made the case revolve around that bottle of water int he bathroom. I don't know I always have bottles of water in my bathroom. Whether I am blowing my hair, or one of my kids bring the water into the bathroom. I really don't think they had an air tight case. She sounded greedy, sorry don't think they truly proved that they killed that poor guy.

I agree, the videos and the transcripts either don't ever get posted (like in the case of the "The Secret Life of the Homecoming Queen", where we only were given a 5-minute intro video and the full episode was never provided) or the transcripts take at least 3 days to be posted. I'm wondering when the video or at least the transcript for this segment will be available. Very upsetting!!

While I agree that the water bottle theory is pure speculation and the case is circumstantial, I think the People proved their case.

I worked with Jeffrey Jones, the district attorney in the case, when I first started my career as a court reporter. He was always thorough and, now, obviously, a career deputy district attorney. He wouldn't have risked his 35 plus years experience as a prosecutor if he didn't believe these two were guilty.

There were just too many statements by the defendant black widow which conflicted with the scene of the evidence regarding blood splatter and timing.
